I can’t make sense of the market for the Weatherbys E-Passport Cheshire Oaks (3.05). Aidan O’Brien has won it eight times and Ryan Moore rides Port Fairy, so it seems to me that she should be favourite. However, the overnight betting prefers Forest Fairy and Galileo Dame.

It’s worth taking them on and backing Port Fairy to extend O’Brien’s already record number of wins in this Listed race as she has a similar profile to the trainer’s last four winners, who all came into it after running in a maiden. Two were last-time-out maiden winners, just like Port Fairy.
